We cherish opportunities to partner with other organizations and corporations in our local community. Today we’re highlighting our partnership with Thrivent, which has had a big impact in Rockford over the years.
On a large scale, Habitat for Humanity international and Thrivent formed their partnership in 2005. This collaboration provides an avenue for individuals, churches, and communities connected to Thrivent to be a part of providing more affordable, safe, high quality housing in their local communities. It all happens through Thrivent Faith Builds.
Here’s how a Thrivent Faith Build works: Thrivent partners with local churches by giving up to 50% of the funding for a Habitat home, and then encourages churches to raise the other 50%. Thrivent members and members of the churches volunteer with Habitat to help complete the construction of the home.
In Rockford, Habitat and Thrivent have had a long and successful partnership. Since 2015, Thrivent has helped sponsor and complete the construction of five houses, and right now they are invested in a sixth home that is still in progress. The partnership even extends beyond Habitat construction sites– one of the Thrivent’s representatives, Steve Steiner, is on the RAHFH Board of Directors!
We would like to thank Thrivent for the many, many ways that they have worked alongside us to further our mission. We couldn’t do it without you!
