Meet Lauren, the newest member of our team! Lauren is our Communications Coordinator, which means she creates and completes our communications plan. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The goal of our communications strategy is to effectively tell our story through social media, our website, and other creative outlets. The hope is to share and educate audiences about what’s going on at RAHFH, inspire individuals and organizations to get involved in a variety of ways, and to ultimately expand our network in order to further our mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s a bit of Lauren’s Q&A!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you\u2019re not serving with RAHFH, what are you up to? What do you do for fun?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I love to read, write, hike, play volleyball, and watch Netflix. During this season of staying at home more, my husband and I have taken a deep dive into cooking, doing crosswords and watching the TV show 24.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is one fun or surprising fact about you?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In high school I played the trumpet, and to this day, when you Google my name, a video of me playing in jazz band is the first thing to pop up. Maybe that’s considered a bit nerdy, but I absolutely loved it!”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What makes you passionate about your work?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am passionate about building connection through stories, and that’s basically what my job entails! I love getting to read, listen to, and share the stories of Habitat, the work we do, and the people who are involved. Storytelling and sharing in a compelling way can really capture someone’s attention, inspire someone to think differently, or change their perspective. It\u2019s amazing to consider how RAHFH stories can create community and connection.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you love about Habitat for Humanity?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I love that Habitat is so personal and willing to build relationships with individuals, homeowners, volunteers, and other organizations, but is also vision-focused and driven by thinking about how to build their work in a way that has a sustainable, long-term effect. That type of heart behind an organization is what changes a community, and I\u2019m honored to be a small part of it.”<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
