HOW CAN I HELP?

Come, Share The Vision...

You are welcome to join us in building a home for a local family in need.  We rely on a workforce of volunteers, both skilled and unskilled.  We will begin construction on May 3, 2008 and work every Saturday into the fall or when the homes are complete.  We do take a break on the Saturday closest to July 4th.

Schedule

On Saturdays, we work from 8:30 a.m. until approximately 4:00 p.m.  Please check in at the registration tent, between 8:00-8:30 a.m., where you will be required to complete and sign a waiver form.  You will be randomly assigned to a house based on skills and available work, unless you specifically request a home.  Please make sure to dress appropriately for a construction site (jeans, good work boots, gloves, etc.).  Lunch will be provided for our volunteers on Saturday.

No need to call the office in advance of volunteering on Saturdays, unless you are bringing a group of 10 or more volunteers.  This will help us provide the appropriate number of lunches and make sure there is enough work to keep all volunteers busy that particular day.

Construction will also take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  If you are interested in working during the week, please call the Habitat office for specific details about where crews will be working.

Volunteer Waiver Forms:

Tools

We have a large trailer full of tools, gloves, eye protection, etc.  However, you are welcome to bring your own, but be sure to mark them clearly to prevent other volunteers from assuming they belong to Habitat.
