Do you have the wheels for the 2012 NASCHAIR Challenge? Time to find out! On Thursday, June 14, 2012, bring your office chair, souped-up and ready to race, down to Don Carter Lanes at 4007 E. State St. to see what you have. You’ll view Rockford’s Miracle Mile like never before. The Challenge begins at 5:00 p.m. Each 4-person team, comprised of a driver and pit crew, will race against the clock as they roll their chair 90 meters. Entry fee is just $100. Bring your own support team to cheer you on and stay for some GREAT EATS. Food and beverages will be sold and Don Carter Lanes will donate a percentage of profits to the event. All proceeds are divided between Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity and Rockford Area Affordable Housing Coalition. Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity completed the 27th Annual Arny Johnson 10-mile and 5K run for Habitat. The event was held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Harlem High School in Machesney Park. All proceeds from the events go to supporting low-income families in their quest for homeownership. On June 11th, 2012
the Rockford Area Habitat for Humanity will be hosting the Second Annual Golf
Play Day fundraiser at Timber Pointe Golf Course.
So, join the fun and help build some homes. At
last year’s event, we were able to raise enough money to purchase the
materials to frame a home! This year, we will be building
a home on Island Ave., so we welcome you to partake in our fun and exciting
Beach Theme! Come out and work on your swing and enjoy a nice day at the course.
A special prize will be handed out for best Beach Theme outfit!
